Leading cleantech awards program opens nominations to recognize innovators, leaders, and organizations accelerating the global clean energy transition
WASHINGTON, D.C. — March 1, 2026 — The Cleanie Awards®, the premier awards program recognizing excellence in clean energy and climate technology, today announced the launch of its 2026–2027 awards program, opening nominations for companies, leaders, projects, and innovators driving the next phase of the global energy transition.
Now entering its next chapter of growth, The Cleanie Awards continues to recognize the individuals and organizations shaping the future of energy through innovation, leadership, and impact. The program acknowledges achievements across the rapidly growing clean energy ecosystem, including renewables, energy storage, grid modernization, electrification, sustainable fuels, climate technologies, and corporate sustainability leadership. New in 2026/27, The Cleanie Awards is introducing two expanded categories: AI & Clean Tech Innovation and Climate Resilience Leadership, reflecting the transformative convergence of artificial intelligence and the clean energy transition.
Each year, an independent judging panel made up of respected leaders from across the clean energy industry reviews nominations. The panel includes executives, investors, policy experts, engineers, and communications professionals. The awards highlight organizations and individuals whose work is speeding up the transition to a more resilient, reliable, and affordable energy system.
The 2026–2027 program will honor excellence across various categories, including leadership, technological innovation, communications excellence, and industry impact. Categories are expected to include recognitions such as:

- Project of the Year – by geography
- AI & Clean Tech Innovation (NEW)
- Climate Resilience Leadership (NEW)

Early nominations will receive discounted entry pricing, with final submissions accepted later in the program cycle. Early bird applications are open starting June 1 – June 30, and regular submissions will be accepted until August 1, 2026.
