The #1 Clean Energy Awards Platform Doubled Submissions and Awarded Winners Across 15 Categories
The Cleanie Awards, the leading awards program focused on celebrating people and brands delivering on the promise of a clean energy future, today announced its 2022 winners. This year’s winners included organizations across the spectrum of the industry — from enterprise to small business to individuals clearing the path for the clean energy transition.
The signing of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) last summer offered a historic and transformative investment of nearly $370 billion in climate, energy, and environmental justice. This funding is expected to generate more than nine million jobs over the next decade – and as the clean energy industry continues to grow, so too does The Cleanie Awards.
Of this year’s 15 award categories, four of them were voted on by the public including Climatetech VC of the Year, Project of the Year, Top Climate and Clean Energy Journalist, and Top Clean Energy and Sustainability Podcast. This year’s vote for Project of the Year saw an 85% increase in the number of votes from 2021.
The Pioneer in New Technology Award has proven so popular that it had to be broken out into multiple market segments to accommodate for the overwhelming response across the spectrum of industry technologies — encompassing batteries, efficiency, electric vehicles, grid, hydrogen, and storage.
“We applaud this year’s applicants and winners, as well as the industry colleagues that contributed to the highly competitive People’s Choice awards,” said Randee Gilmore, Executive Director of The Cleanie Awards. “The clean energy transition has accelerated this year given the boost of the IRA, maturing technologies, a surge of capital funding, and the rollout of ambitious climatetech projects. In the year ahead, we look forward to engaging in additional brand storytelling around our growing community to amplify the companies, organizations, and thought leaders paving the way to a sustainable future.”
